You are not your mind; you have a mind. You are not your house or your car; you have a house, you have a car.
There has been a rapid proliferation of a toxic culture that blurs distinctions between the East and West, leading our human species to identify itself with what it truly is not. We witness millions of corporate zombies who live as if they are their jobs they talk, dress, eat, vacation, and even marry as if they are their jobs.
We witness millions of corporate zombies
We have a car, a dress, a partner, but we are not them. They are not extensions of our identities. Embracing who we truly are can be daunting, prompting us to seek identification with material possessions.
While this concept might already be widely understood, the subtlety lies in acknowledging that we have a mind, but we are not our mind, that is who we are. Our minds often become receptacles for what culture, friends, schools, and family—often not by our choosing—make us believe is a reality.
As a result, we fabricate stories of what is right or wrong, good or bad, black or white, inflicting pain on ourselves with a mind that constantly labels everything, neglecting our true essence or what truly matters.”
